REEM ACRA
Collezione 2010

In her latest collection, Reem goes back to the fairy tales from her childhood - tales of true love, beauty and fantasy. The lightness and purity of her gowns capture timelessness yet has an underlay of modernity with techniques and touches like gold stamping, laser cutting, and couture construction.

"ONCE upon a time in the middle of winter, when the flakes of snow were falling like feathers from the sky, a queen sat at a window sewing, and the frame of the window was made of black ebony. And whilst she was sewing and looking out of the window at the snow, she pricked her finger with the needle, and three drops of blood fell upon the snow. And the red looked pretty upon the white snow, and she thought to herself, "Would that I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the window-frame."

Snow White & the Seven Dwarves, Brothers Grimm

For her spring bridal collection, Reem goes back to the fairy tales that formed her childhood -- the tales her mother told her of beautiful princesses and extraordinary dresses.

In these uncertain times, true love and beauty should be celebrated. The stories and times of innocence and wonder have shaped her collection of light, pure and romantic gowns, named after these heroines of fantasy.

Together with a certain restraint in embroidery and embellishment, Reem has gathered these fairy princesses and brides of her childhood and brought them to modern life with the lightness and timelessness of gowns.

The sweetness of these floating dreams with matching veils brings back the wonder and purity of a childhood age of innocence. And yet at the same time the collection has an underlay of modernity with techniques and touches like gold stamping, laser cutting and couture construction, bringing Cinderella and all her friends into the wonder of the 21st century.
